First, thanks so much! :)

Second, to answer your question…the first “official” time I met him (I say official because I spoke to him once without knowing exactly who he was at the time, haha) I was super awkward but he was remarkably nice about the whole thing. I just let him know how much I enjoyed their music and mentioned the previous gig I had seen them at. (First saw them as an opener for Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn some years back…and he remembered the gig when I mentioned it to him!)

In subsequent meetings, I’d like to think I was a bit more chill, haha. I’ve asked him questions about the album (this was before Sigh No More was released…he let me know when he was expecting it to come out, how many tracks were on it), questioned him about lyrics (I was trying to figure out part of “Whispers In The Dark” and he sang it for me. Could’ve died on the spot, I cannot lie.), complemented their music endless times…like I said, each time he was a complete gem. All the lads are quite charming and personable in person (though Win’s a bit of a recluse, haha.)

Best of luck in your quest to meet him! Oddly enough, he’s the one I’ve had the most interaction with even though you’d imagine him to be the least accessible of the group. I don’t quite know how that might change now that they’re basically megastars…but hopefully they do try to remain as accessible to their fans as possible!
